Singapore
Singapore is the Region’s vibrant commercial hub, being home to the world’s second busiest shipping container terminal and some of the largest dry docking facilities available. The dry docks have established a reputation for quality and value-for-money in ship conversion projects. Many of the world’s single-hull super tankers have been converted to operate as FPSO (Floating Production Storage & Offload) or FSO (Floating Storage & Offload) units at the yards in Singapore. Almost all of these older vessels have substantial quantities of asbestos materials on board, either engine room /pump room pipe insulation or bulkhead and deckhead paneling in the accommodation areas, all of which has to be removed and disposed of as part of the conversion. The Angus Group has, over the years, planned, managed and successfully carried out many of these projects.
Singapore is constantly changing, new buildings seemingly appearing on the skyline almost daily. Singapore is short of land and older buildings are being demolished in order to create the space required for the new buildings. These older building will, more often than not, contain asbestos materials, therefore it is important that a thorough asbestos building survey is carried out prior to any demolition works. The Angus Group are qualified and experienced in carrying out these surveys and any consequent removal, disposal and demolition operations.
